Jesus says in Matthew 18:8-9 (ESV):
“And if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life crippled or lame than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into the eternal fire. And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into the hell of fire.”
We are living far away from the holy and infinitely perfect world that God has created. I wonder how difficult it would be for us to live our lives without The Lord, Jesus Christ. His words are strong guidance for us, especially for today’s struggles. When I was watching “A Silent Message For All Of Us” (below), I thought about the series preachings from Dr. Erwin: “Unplugged”, then I thought to myself, “This is so true. It’s a good reminder for myself.”
I just want to take the liberty of Jesus strong words apply them to today’s world that we are living in its. If my iPod, iPad (I do not have them-Thanks God!) cause me to sin, I would unplug it. If I cannot use internet to benefit for my soul (and others) but causes me to sin, I would unplug it and never go online again. It is better for me to go without blogging than to be thrown into the eternal fire. If my smartphone (I do not have one-Thanks God!) causes me to sin, I would get a “dumb phone”(which I’m using 🙂 ). It is better for me to go through life without status updates and instagramming my meals than be thrown into the eternal fire. Amen!
