Ladies Christmas Tea 2013

Thanks so much our godly men from NWB!

I LOVE YOU ALL!

Hôm qua, sau giờ làm việc mẹ Châu vội vã chạy về Hội Thánh để trang trí bàn tiệc này đây..

Thank You, America. Thank You For Re-electing Barack Obama.

Tulip: I am having a hard time (every now and then…) about advising our patients regarding to Obamacare (Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act-PPACA) questions.  I disagreed with this bill before The House of Representatives  passed it and then transfered it for The US Senate in March, 2010.  My heart felt so bitter when I think about the mission of American Doctors is bring the best care to their patients on earth, but American Doctors were not supported by this bill.  Their mission was ignored by the Government.  Will our Doctors stand on their own path to bring the best benefits to patients across the nation!?  How!?

Suddenly my mind recalled an article that I had read a year ago right after Mr. Obama had been re-elected in Nov, 2012.  “Thank You, America” by Jack Finn.  Jack Finn is a freelance writer who has worked in the entertainment and sports industries for the last 25 years. He is a proud American, and most importantly, a loving father and husband.

I want to share his article with all of you who care about OUR CHILDREN, THE FUTURE OF AMERICA.

Thank You, America.

Thank you, America. Thank you for re-electing Barack Obama.

Thank you for solidifying Obamacare. Thank you for ensuring that my health insurance rates will rise to the point where my employer drops my coverage. Thank you for future higher prescription drug prices, for lower quality care, for long lines to see my doctor, and for allowing a board of 15 people to determine my fate. Thank you, America.

Thank you, America, for making sure our media will be taking a coffee break for the next four years instead of holding our elected officials accountable (unless they’re Republicans, of course). Thank you for making sure we’ll never find out about how we lost a brave border agent who was shot by a gun from a government gun-running operation. Thank you for making sure we won’t find out about why our president lied about the circumstances surrounding the death of an ambassador. Thank you for seeing to it that we won’t find out that the government’s response to Sandy was worse than its response to Katrina. Thank you, America.

Thank you, America, for making sure we’ll continue to have an education system that teaches children that you are bad while ignoring the genius of your Declaration of Independence and your Constitution; that teaches children about birth control and gender equality but steers clear of God; that teaches children to rely on the government for the things they need instead of on themselves. Thank you, America.

Thank you, America, for ensuring that we will continue to run up huge deficits. Thank you for ensuring the continued abuse of the Fed, which will be free to print more money, eventually making it worth less than the paper it’s printed on. Thank you for piling that debt on my children, so they’ll have to work for your government and China’s, rather than for themselves and their families. Thank you, America.

Thank you, America, for making sure our military strength will be greatly reduced, in men and in supplies and equipment. Thank you for cementing poor relationships with our allies while coddling our enemies. Thank you for ensuring Iran gets a nuclear weapon, which it will not be afraid to use, probably resulting in another deadly global conflict down the road. Thank you, America.

Thank you, America, for ensuring that proposed regulations on oil drilling and coal mining will be implemented, which will cause gas and electricity prices to spike. Thank you for ensuring that we won’t be able to build new power plants and refineries. And thank you especially because these things will cause our everyday necessities, like food and transportation, to cost us more than ever before. Thank you, America.

Thank you, America, for ensuring that our religious institutions will be dictated to by your government, that they will have to provide services such as contraception and abortion even though doing so defies their most basic beliefs. Thank you, America.

Thank you, America, for making sure we will continue to further divide ourselves into groups and see ourselves only by our race, gender, age, sexual orientation and income, instead of seeing each other as Americans. Thank you, America.

Thank you, America, for the judges who will soon be sitting behind the benches in our courts, who will render decisions based on ideological social beliefs while ignoring the Constitution they’ve sworn to uphold. Thank you, America.

Yes, thank you, America, for all of these wonderful gifts you’ve given us by re-electing Barack Obama.

Of course, if I was bitter, I would have used another word besides “thank” in front of “you.”

Charlotte, N.C., couple Richard and Deborah Rosser hosted a My Hope gathering outside in a tent, reminiscent of Billy Graham’s early years of preaching. An 8-year-old boy prayed to receive Christ, and an older man rededicated his life to Jesus.

A number of prisons around the United States showed the My Hope programs, including High Point Detention Center in North Carolina, where 296 prisoners watched the videos over the course of three nights. In all, 31 prisoners in High Point made first-time decisions for Christ, and 47 rededicated their lives to Jesus.

Believers from more than 28,000 churches in North America registered to participate in My Hope by opening up their homes to friends, family and neighbors who didn’t previously have relationships with Jesus.

My Hope in Pictures

After showing a My Hope video, believers hosting friends and family were encouraged to share their personal testimonies in three minutes or less.

Each night, as “The Cross” aired on various television stations across North America, 40 response centers were open, with volunteers from BGEA, Focus on the Family, Liberty University and the Southern Baptist Convention’s North American Mission Board taking calls from viewers. Many callers made decisions for Christ, including a 12-year old boy named Jaden from Marion, Ohio. Jaden’s father is serving a 21-year prison sentence. Jaden made a decision for Christ after watching “The Cross” on TV and calling into BGEA.

While many believers held My Hope gatherings at their homes, others held events at churches, community centers and on college campuses.

About 70 people attended the regular Friday night service at The Rock Church in Provo, Utah, and among the handful of new visitors, two people prayed to receive Jesus Christ as Savior after watching “The Cross.”

My Hope in Pictures

My Hope places a strong emphasis on follow-up. New believers are encouraged to attend church or begin Bible studies with the people who invited them to watch the My Hope programs. When people accept Christ over the phone, BGEA sends them materials in the mail to help in their new walk with God.

At a My Hope gathering at a home in Lansing, Mich., six people prayed the prayer of repentance together after watching “The Cross.”

Billy Graham thanked birthday guests and longtime friends and supporters at his birthday party, where his message, “The Cross” was shown. The video features the powerful testimonies of rapper Lecrae and singer Lacey Sturm, who both attended the birthday party in Asheville.

Darilyn Dierickx hosted 10 friends and family members Friday night for a meal and viewing of “The Cross” at her Hemet, Calif., home.

Darilyn was especially praying for one friend in particular, who ended up praying the prayer of salvation with Billy Graham and eagerly taking the My Hope discipleship materials.

Former pro skateboarder Brian Sumner, featured in the My Hope video “Lose to Gain,” was also the “Matthew” host at Soul Ride Skatepark in Concord, N.C., where more than a dozen skateboarders responded to Sumner’s invitation to follow Christ.

Felicitas Aranda hosted 50 people at her San Diego, Calif., home to watch “Momentos Decisivos,” the Spanish version of the “Defining Moments” video.

Two people responded to invitations to receive Christ at Felicitas’ gathering, including one rededication. Felicitas, who is part of the Hispanic congregation at Shadow Mountain Community Church, said numerous other people told her afterward that they were stirred to consider the Lord in a much deeper way than ever before.

Eboni Jackson, a 14-year-old from Albany, Ga., went on a mission to share the My Hope message with her community.

My Hope in Pictures

Will Graham, vice president of the BGEA and grandson of Billy Graham, preached at Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Ga., wrapping up a weekend of My Hope events. Known for its faith-based movies, Sherwood was one of the biggest supporters of My Hope, spending a good chunk of the year training members to be “Matthew” hosts and share their faith through relationship evangelism. The church saw 76 salvations as a result.

Reverend Billy Graham’s Birthday All About “The Cross”

November 7, 2013 – As 800 people gathered in Asheville, N.C., Thursday night to celebrate Billy Graham’s 95th birthday, the world-renowned preacher characteristically wanted all the attention on Jesus Christ.

By Trevor Freeze

A 95th birthday party sounded nice.

But when Billy Graham was asked about plans for such a landmark celebration, the world-renowned evangelist raised an eyebrow to his close friend and pastor.

“Would anyone want to come to my party?” Don Wilton shared Mr. Graham’s concern Thursday night. “And he said this from the bottom of his heart.”

“He’s afraid people have forgotten who he is,” Franklin Graham said.

Clearly, that was not the case on Thursday at the Grove Park Inn. More than 800 honored Mr. Graham’s 95 years of life, including Donald Trump and Rupert Murdoch, with dozens of media members clamoring for just one more glimpse of the “Pastor to the Presidents.”

And on a day where all eyes were on his 95th birthday and his new message was airing in primetime on FOX News, Mr. Graham wanted his celebration focused on one thing: The cross.

billybirthday

“He’s the most humble man you’ll ever know,” North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory said. “He knows it’s not about him. It’s about the cross.”

The evening began with a showing of “The Cross,” a 30-minute My Hope America short film, featuring a Gospel message that Mr. Graham has passionately wanted to preach for the past three years, along with life-changing stories from musicians Lecrae and Lacey Sturm.

Franklin Graham became the night’s “Matthew” host, giving a short testimony about how he waited 22 years before realizing he “was sick and tired of being sick and tired,” and extended the same invitation to accept Christ.

The evening program wrapped up with former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin sharing about her mother making a decision to follow Jesus through a televised Billy Graham Crusade, which impacted her entire family for Christ.

“Billy Graham has been able to articulate this message more than anyone else,” Palin said. “He reminds us that Jesus is the only answer.”

FOX News host Greta Van Susteren finished off the night by leading a cupcake-and-candle-infused “Happy Birthday” group singing, bringing up Michael W. Smith, Lecrae, Lacey Sturm, Kathie Lee Gifford and Ricky Skaggs for musical harmony. She offered a personal gift to Mr. Graham “by not singing” herself.

Mr. Graham then addressed the crowd twice at the end of the program. First, to thank his ministry partner and dear friend, Cliff Barrows, “for all that you have meant to me through all these years.” The second, to recognize his grandson, Edward Graham, an Army Major. “We’re so proud of you,” he said.

Will Graham, vice president of BGEA, is proud of his grandfather, whose ministry is still active, long past the normal retirement age.

“He realizes the calling that God gave him is for his whole life,” Will Graham said. “It’s not just for 60 years.”

Very few know this better than Cliff Barrows, 90, who has been a ministry partner with Mr. Graham for more than 60 years, and took one more opportunity to thank his dear friend.

“I thank God for every remembrance of you,” said Mr. Barrows, his voice crackling. “And I praise God for the journey we’ve had …
“With all my heart.”

Happy 95th Birthday Reverend Graham
